Announcement: UiTM Holdings Group of Companies’ Employee Tested Positive for Covid-19

Shah Alam, 2nd November 2020 – UiTM Holdings Group of Companies (“UHSB”) wishes to confirm that one of our employees based at our office in Dataran PHB, Saujana has tested positive for the COVID-19 virus yesterday, 1st November 2020, and is currently receiving medical attention at a Government Hospital. The employee is suspected to have contracted the virus outside of the office as the employee had been working from home since 12th October 2020.

UHSB wished to reaffirm that the health and wellbeing of its employees are of utmost priority and will continue to be vigilant in its effort to contain the spread of the Covid-19 virus. UHSB is taking all possible measures to mitigate further spread of the virus and ensure the safety of its employees. UHSB’s office in Dataran PHB was immediately closed until further notice and is currently undergoing full disinfection in accordance with guidelines by Ministry of Health (“MOH”).

Detailed contract tracing is being carried out by MOH as well as our Group Human Capital to identify and inform those who had close contact with the employee, as well as investigating the source of infection where the employee may have contracted it from.

UHSB has been implementing necessary preventive measures across its businesses to help contain the spread of the virus, of which includes:

  1. Frequent alerts and awareness on the Covid-19 pandemic to all employees.
  2. Temperature checks on all employees, visitors, vendors, contractors, and customers at its business premises including at Dataran PHB.
  3. Routine sanitization of the business premises in accordance with safety and health guidelines.
  4. Provide a sufficient supply of hand sanitizers and face masks at its business premises.

UHSB had activated its Work From Home (“WFH”) policy for the employees effective 7th October 2020 and continue to observe the policy in line with the Conditional Movement Control Order (“CMCO”). Employees with critical functions are given the authorization to enter the office on case-to-case basis with strict Standard Operating Procedures (“SOP”) to be adhered to.

UHSB urges all its employees to remain calm and continue to observe the rules and regulations under the CMCO, UHSB’s WFH Policy and other advisories issues by the Group whilst continue taking precautionary measure such as the practice of physical distancing and good personal hygiene.

UHSB will continue to undertake these necessary measures to ensure the safety of all stakeholders and members of public, of which are of priority and great importance to us.
